Fiber laser

Mounts, structures, suspensions for sculptures

We primarily use fiber lasers to cut precise metal elements needed for large sculptures, figures, and structural projects. This isn’t just a random metal cutting service. It’s part of our design process, where the mount, pendant, support, or structural element is created for the specific figure, its weight, center of gravity, and mounting method.

This ensures everything is perfectly aligned: geometry, holes, mounting points, material thickness, load distribution, and the aesthetics of concealing the element within the sculpture. In large-scale projects, such precision is paramount.

Fixings designed together with the figure

A large wooden sculpture requires carefully considered mounting, suspension, or stabilization. Our designers develop mounting elements at the design stage, not only after the sculpture is completed. We analyze the center of gravity, load transfer points, safe mounting locations, assembly access, and which elements should remain hidden.

The fiber laser allows us to produce these elements quickly and precisely, with repeatable dimensions. This means that the metal structural part doesn’t interfere with the sculpture, but works in conjunction with it.

  • fastenings for large wooden figures and sculptures,
  • pendants, mounting plates, handles and brackets,
  • structural elements adapted to the center of gravity,
  • reinforcements and hidden technical details,
  • metal templates and assembly accessories,
  • parts prepared for specific holes, screws, spacers and anchoring.

In large projects, there's no room for haphazard mounting. A poorly chosen bracket can distort the design, complicate assembly, or transfer loads to the wrong location. That's why we design technical elements to be functional, predictable, and as invisible as possible.

Perfect fit to the wooden structure

A wooden figure, especially a large one, is not a perfect cuboid. It has an organic shape, variable cross-sections, hand-crafted details, and the technological limitations of woodworking. Therefore, the mounting hardware must be tailored to the specific project, not selected from a catalog.

At Viktor-Art, we design metal elements to fit the sculpture, not the other way around. We consider thickness, mounting pockets, load direction, tool availability, transportability, and the final aesthetic. The result is a structure that safely displays a large figure without detracting from its character.

From CAD design to finished metal part

Working with a fiber laser begins with a design. We prepare the component’s shape, holes, radii, tolerances, and assembly method. Then we cut the part, check the fit, and make design adjustments if necessary. This process allows us to achieve a mount that fits the figure, base, wall, frame, or display structure.

This is particularly important for heavy sculptures, religious figures, hanging elements, objects mounted high up, and projects where safety and aesthetics are equally important.

Technology supporting premium craftsmanship

Fiber lasers don’t replace woodcarving. They allow us to craft technical elements with the precision required by modern premium manufacturing. This allows a handcrafted figure to have a modern, hidden, and perfectly aligned construction.

If the project involves a large sculpture, a hanging figure, a wall-mounted element, or a structure requiring steel details, it’s worth discussing mounting options from the outset. See also large-size wooden figures and 3D design and modeling.
